It’s the big question. Does design really contribute to my business?

Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been selling a product/service for years business owners might be asking this question.

The answer? There is clear evidence that yes. Investing in your business doesn’t cost – it pays.

Here are 3 reasons why investing in your branding and designs will lead to growth in your business.

1. Stand out from the competition.

Professional design gives you the ability to stand out from your competition and makes your target audience take notice. The way the public perceives your visuals impacts their perception of your product or service. In other words, according to your clients’ perception, great design translates into a great product or service.

2. Good design can increase conversions.

Websites and other marketing collaterals that have great visual design will increase user experience and trust – which will result in higher conversion rates. Researches from Stanford University discovered that just under 50% of people decide if a website is credible or not based on its design!

3. First impressions are everything.

It takes seconds for us to form an impression on just about anything, but it will take a lot more to change that first impression. When people hear about your business, be it from a flyer, poster, business card, website – your visuals will tell them a lot about you and your business. Are there bright cherry colours and dreamy fonts? Or are you a more monochromatic sleek personality? Your designs make the impression. Ensure it is the impression you want to convey.

So that’s the basic rundown. Design matters for your business – large or small. Decisions such as colour scheme and font choices will help you deliver your brand messaging. Does your business have an official brand style guide? Use it to keep your branding consistent for a consistent message throughout your marketing materials.
